You can review Temu's API documentation HERE
To review how we connect into Temu follow the below steps:
- First ensure Temu has been added to your account.
- Login to Marketplace Maximizer.
- Go to Channels and Destination
- Click ? next to Temu.
- Click on the API Docs tab.
This will show you all the APIs we connect into for each sync type.
Below are some considerations on how we connect with Temu:
- Order Cancellation & Refund APIs:
- Temu currently does not provide APIs for order cancellation or refunds. These features are still under development. So in order updates are only for order fulfillments.
- Restricted Attribute Combinations:
- Their documentation notes that "To comply with local laws and regulations, the simultaneous selection of certain attribute values by merchants may be prohibited from being published for sale on corresponding sites." However, no specific combinations are listed. We may only discover these restrictions when we encounter related errors during sync.
- Product Review Delay:
- After we sync a product to Temu, it typically takes 2–3 business days for it to be reviewed and made active on the platform.
Products
- Before sending products, set up configuration flags under the Temu Product Settings tab:
Setting Description Recommended Product Update Excludes The list of attributes to not sync during product updates. Note the attributes will still sync during the creation of new productsOptional Import Designation Only for USA. If made in USA from imported materials, select Made in USA and Imported. If some units are from USA and some imported select Made in USA or Imported. If made in USA from Mexican materials, select Made in USA. If made outside USA, select Imported. Default value is Imported Mandatory
Orders
- Support Fulfillments - Whether to support fulfilling orders when they are fulfilled on your platform
An important step is to define what products you want to publish to Temu This can be done via Products and Rules from the left navigation.
- Click Add Overwrite
- Select Temu
- Select Publish and Create Rule
Some common rules for Publishing include:
- Custom Field or Tag:
Depending on your eCommerce platform.
E.g., IF Tag / Custom Field = temu, THEN publish = TRUE; ELSE FALSE.
- Brand-based conditions:
E.g., IF Brand = “MPM”, THEN publish = TRUE; ELSE FALSE.
- SKU-based rules:
E.g., IF SKU in ("XYZ123","ABC456"), THEN publish = TRUE; ELSE FALSE
- Keyword matching:
E.g., IF Title contains “Eco-Friendly”, THEN publish = TRUE; ELSE FALSE
In order to create listings on Temu, the below mappings are required.
Category Mapping
- Go to Products and Mappings from the left navigation.
- Match your source product categories with Temu’s category tree.
- Repeat the process for all Source Categories.
NOTE – You can bulk export / import via a spreadsheet.
For more details on the mapping process please refer to this guide HERE
Category Attribute Mapping
- Open the Category Attribute tab under the Temu channel.
- Map your store’s internal fields (e.g., brand) to Temu’s required attributes.
- Use default values where attribute values are missing.
- Pay special attention to required attributes that will show automatically upon category selection.
Product Attribute Mapping
- For Apparel categories, both Apparel_Color and Apparel_Size attributes must be mapped under the Attribute Mapping section, as these are mandatory for creating product variations on the Temu platform.
- For Non-Apparel categories, any two attributes —selected from the available list (e.g., Model, Capacity, Style, Material, etc.)—must be mapped in order to generate valid product variations. All relevant attributes are available within the Attribute Mapping.
NOTE – You can bulk export / import via a spreadsheet per attribute selected.
For more details on the mapping process please refer to this guide HERE
Marketplace Maximizer Rules Builder allows dynamic transformation of product data without modifying your Source catalogue.

NOTE - Product Review Delay:
- After we sync a product to Temu, it typically takes 2–3 business days for it to be reviewed and made active on the platform.
When Do We Update Listings (e.g., Stock, Price)?
Listings are updated in the following scenarios:

- Temu Signature Error
Description:
Temu signature errors can occur due to timestamp delays during bulk publishing.
Exact Error Message:
["sign is invalid, please check your sign calculation"]

- Invalid Request Parameters
Description:
This error occurs when request fields have incorrect formats (e.g., weight, height, width as strings; quantity as integer).
Exact Error Message:
["Invalid Request Parameters"]

If this error occurs, correct the field formats and resend the request.
- SKU Duplicated

- Attribute or Specification Error: Keyword attribute [Plug Type] verification error: Missing parent attribute value.
Description:
This error is category-specific, where the attribute (e.g., "Plug Type") varies by category. It occurs due to a missing parent attribute value. Since the Temu API response does not explicitly define parent-child relationships between attributes, resolving this requires reviewing all attributes and logically identifying and mapping the relevant parent attribute.
Exact Error Message:
["Attribute or Specification Error: Keyword attribute [Plug Type] verification error: Missing parent attribute value."]
Action:
Carefully check all attributes to identify the missing parent attribute based on category logic, then update and resend.
